Formula Renault UK is established as the country’s leading single-seater championship, launching the Formula 1 racing careers of Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Räikkönen and Heikki Kovalainen. The championship enjoys a high level of exposure due to its place on the support package of the British Touring Car Championship, leading to comprehensive television coverage on the ITV Sport network. Two races are also held at World Series by Renault, which attracted a crowd of 125,000 in 2010, making it the best attended one-make single-seater series.
The average live audience, per show, in 2010 is estimated to have been 301,000.
